Care instructions

LET THE WAX POOL: The first time you light your candle, allow it to burn until the wax pool melts all the way to the edge; for a larger candle, this may take several hours. Wax has “memory,” so if it is extinguished with a partial pool, that will prevent a full, even pool from forming in the future. Be mindful of placement in your home as air vents can affect the overall burn.

FOUR & TWO RULE: It is recommended that after burning for four hours, candles be
extinguished, allowed to cool for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.

WICK CARE: Trim the wick each time you light the candle, removing any “bloom”
from the previous burn. We recommend lighting a wick that is 1/4-1/2” in length.

KEEP IT CLEAN: Do not allow wick trimmings, dust, o

Who do you offer Free Shipping to?

We offer FREE SHIPING on all orders of $35 or more to anyone in the United States!

Are your candles vegan?

We use 100% soy vegan wax, all the oils are vegan, and of course the materials like lid, label, and tumbler are… BUT (and this applies to most candle companies so I would make sure you always specifically ask), the cotton wick is coated in a very very small amount of bees wax. The reason the wick is coated in bees wax is because it has a much higher melting point than soy wax and it allows the wick to maintain it’s rigidness while the wax dries and cures. You don’t want the wick absorbing the oils or it may not burn correctly, which could result in an unsafe burn. The portion of beeswax on the wicks' priming is, indeed, ethically sourced and makes up less than a percentage point of all materials used.

Can I pick up my order?

Unfortunately, at this time, we don’t have a place for local pick up. We are trying to expand our operations and hope to have a larger warehouse space that will allow this in the near future.

If you’d like to be able to pick up in the near future please tell your favorite local shop that we offer wholesale! It would mean the world to us!

How can I help your small business?

Thanks for asking! It would mean THE WORLD to us if you told your local favorite shop to start selling Wash and Wik. We are trying to grow and we can only do it with your help!

Wholesale available here:

Are your candles cruelty free?

Yes! None of our raw materials are tested on animals and the small portion of beeswax on the wicks' priming is ethically sourced. See the question in regards to “Are your candles vegan?” for more info on why we use beeswax on our wicks.

Our candles have a clean burn, which make it safe for you, your family, and of course your fluffy animal friends!

Tell me more about your Soy Wax!

We use 100% soy wax that is Sustainably Sourced from our partners who aim to have 100 percent verified deforestation-free and conversion-free soy supply chains by 2025. We spend a little more on this wax because simply put, it is the right thing to do. Our supplier has also committed to planting 150,000 trees planted by 2025.

What oils do you use for your candles? Are they clean?

Simple answer, YES they are CLEAN!

Our Fragrance and Essential oils come from reputable vendors that produce these oils for this specific industry.

These oils are 100% phthalate-free and are also Carcinogen, Mutagen, Reproductive Toxin, Organ Toxin, and Acute Toxin Free. We also ensure we adhere to all proper safety data, RIFM, and IFRA documentation.

Some aroma oils just do not exist in the natural world so that is where a synthetic oil comes into play. All of our fragrance oils are a combination of natural essential oils and synthetic aroma oils. When possible, we'll use essential oils to complement the fragrance oils, but some fragrance oils don't have notes that can be found in nature (for instance, Chocolate Fudge).

What are those smaller words under the scent / candle name?

These are additional scent descriptors. These are the notes you'd get on the nose (kind of like when smelling wine) and are meant to describe our candle. If the name of the candle is also the scent, the scent will not be repeated in the additional descriptors, but is the main characteristic of the candle.
